BEN AFFLECK REVEALS TREATMENT FOR ALCOHOL ADDICTION
The actor took to Facebook to tell his fans about the rehab, saying he wants “to live life to the fullest and be the best father I can be.” Affleck first checked into rehab in 2001 and has struggled with alcohol since. It’s “something I’ve dealt with in the past and will continue to confront.”
The actor also reportedly stepped down from directing the Batman movies, but will continue to play the lead role.
Affleck married Jennifer Garner in 2005 and the couple shares three children, Violet, Seraphina and Samuel. They split in 2015 amid cheating, gambling, and drinking rumors. Recently, Garner decided to call off their impending divorce and try to work on their marriage.
“I want my kids to know there is no shame in getting help when you need it, and to be a source of strength for anyone out there who needs help but is afraid to take the first step,” Affleck wrote. “I’m lucky to have the love of my family and friends, including my co-parent, Jen, who has supported me and cared for our kids as I’ve done the work I set out to do. This was the first of many steps being taken towards a positive recovery.”
