Bella Hadid Attends Pro-Palestine March, Responds To Critics

Bella Hadid is making headlines after she posted a series of photos and videos on Instagram from a pro-Palestine march in New York City. The caption read, “The way my heart feels. To be around this many beautiful, smart, respectful, loving, kind and generous Palestinians all in one place… it feels whole! We are a rare breed!! ❤️ It’s free Palestine til Palestine is free!!! P.s. The Palestinian drip is real 💧#FreePalestine

Hadid, whose father is of Palestinian descent, can be seen wearing a Keffiyeh and waving the Palestinian flag. The march took place in Bay Ridge, New York, where demonstrators protested the escalating conflict between Israel and Palestine.

The same day, Hadid shared a post that revealed some of her family history and reaffirmed her support for Palestine. The two photos depicted her grandparents, her “Teta and Jido,” as well as her father alongside his aunts and uncles. The first shows the wedding of her grandparents in Nazareth, Palestine in 1941.

The caption read:

“My Teta and my Jido’s wedding in Nazareth, Palestine in 1941.   ❤️🇵🇸❤️

Princess Khairiah Daher Hadid (Whom i was given my middle name , Khair**❤️) ,

Grand Daughter of the Prince of Nazareth and the Ruler of Galilee ..

Married professor Anwar Hadid, from the Hadid Quarters of Safad, Palestine of a Prominent Al Haj and Shiek Mohamed Hadid of Safad

Together they had 8 beautiful babies. My aunts and uncles, Including my baba, @mohamedhadid, bottom right. With my uncle Mahmoud in his arms. And my Teta far left… With 8 children under the age of 15… Who were taken out of their homes in Palestine in 1948, becoming refugees in Syria, then Lebanon, then Tunisia.

I love my family, I love my Heritage, I love Palestine ❤️ I will stand strong to keep their hope for a better land in my heart. A better world for our people and the people around them. They can never erase our history. History is history!”

Bella’s sister, Gigi Hadid, also posted on Instagram expressing her thoughts on the ongoing conflict.

Gigi addressed a conversation that she had with an individual in the comment section of an Instagram post. The user, whose handle Gigi blocked out, said, “We gonna stay in Israel no matter how much u try to kill us its our land and our country and we don’t [give] up on her,” followed by emojis of the Israeli flag.

Gigi responded by saying, “I condemn anti-semitism.’I’ am not trying to kill you, nor would I ever want that. I do not wish any more deaths upon Israelis, just as I feel about Palestinians. There are also Jewish Palestinians and Christian Palestinians, as there was, coexist with my father’s Muslim Palestinian family when he was born in Palestine in 1948. I wish you peace.”
