Saturday Night Live announced a cast reorganization on Monday. Beck Bennett will be leaving the cast after eight years. His most notable roles include former Vice President Mike Pence, Javier Bardem and Fox News anchor Chris Wallace. Bennett shared a heartwarming carousel on Instagram with memories of his time at SNL, writing “Thank you for 8 years of remarkable people and incredible experiences that completely changed my life.”
Apart from Bennett’s departure, Lauren Holt is also leaving the show. Holt was a “featured player,” a newcomer to the show who has yet to establish themselves.
Two promotions and three new arrivals were also announced. Bowen Yang and Chloe Fineman are both to be promoted from featured players to repertory players, meaning they are now established stars and core members of the crew. Aristotle Athari, James Austin Johnson and Sarah Sherman are to be added as new featured players.
