Bebe Rexha Claps Back At Azealia Banks After Fat-Shaming Comments
Azealia Banks, 33, may have risen to fame for her rapping skills, but nowadays, she is better known for her sharp words behind a keyboard. She continues to stir up controversies by sharing her unfiltered and unsolicited opinions on social media, and one of her latest victims was none other than “I’m The Drama” singer/songwriter Bebe Rexha.
The Met Gala took place May 5, and Banks gave play-by-play commentary on all the night’s stars and fashion as they walked the red carpet.
Upon seeing Rexha’s look, Banks posted, “Sis gives me – hormonal birth control implant or something. It’s giving implanon/nuvaring she needs removed or depo shot that needs to stop happening (I’m not even tryna play her).”
“And you might wanna jump on some type of therapy, sis, lexapro worked great for me,” Rexha replied. “Something that helps with the deep rooted sadness and chaos you keep projecting. Healing looks good on everyone. Try it.”
Shortly after her clapback, Rexha posted again, saying, “Ok I’m gonna go and enjoy my day now. Have a good day everyone love you,” assuming the feud was settled.
Banks, however, was only getting started. Now that Rexha had given her new material, she immediately latched onto the details and fired back a string of new posts directed at her or about her in the comments.
“B—h that’s why ur bustin out the bando!!!!! Lexapro LITERALLY made me fat!!! I’m not kidding. And it made depression even worse. I took ssri’s for years and quit in 2019. You should really get off Lexapro lmao, weight gain is a TRADEMARK side effect of Lexapro.”
“None of that ssri bullshit feels better than skinny feels. Honestly and Truly.”
“Lexapro is not working for you girl. I can be ur support sister if u need it’s honestly nothing to be ashamed of because trust me…The problems that come from ssri’s are a lot LOT worse than anything you feel you are going thru now and you’ll eventually begin to wish you had those old problems back.”
Eventually, Rexha popped back on to make another post, which has since been deleted. She discussed her struggle with Polycystic Ovary Syndrome, PCOS, a hormonal disorder common in women that can cause irregular periods, weight gain, and other symptoms, as well as revealing she lost a pregnancy.
“I’m so tired of people commenting on my weight. I have PCOS and struggle with infertility,” she wrote. “I got pregnant, and it didn’t work out, and I’ve been carrying that pain in silence. I never owed anyone that truth, but maybe now you’ll think twice before commenting on anyone’s body.”
“Lmfao now she’s a victim,” Banks said in response to an article where they quoted Rexha talking about the miscarriage. “Well sis…It’s the LEXAPRO. I def had a miscarriage on SSRI’s too. Like I said. Get off the SSRI’s period.”
Other than Rexha, Banks also attacked Blackpink member Lalisa Manoban, known as Lisa, calling her a “ladyboy.”
“It’s giving Adam’s apple and a not so taut tuck. Lisa is a man. I’m not walking that comment back. I’m sorry that EAR is male as hell. The tea is clocked. AND sis from thailand?? YEA NO, it’s DEF GIVING TROON OF THE LOOM.”
Another post directed at Cynthia Erivo was so bad it was hidden by X because it was deemed to “violate X’s rules against Hateful Conduct.”
