The bank robber dubbed “Beardo,” who had been operating in the Seattle area over the course of several months, has apparently been caught.
The FBI and Everett police are confident that they have arrested Beardo, whose signature has been wearing a fake beard, a prominent nose and dark sunglasses during his heists, reported the New York Post. The alleged robber, named Christian N. Franzwa, is thought to be responsible for at least seven bank robberies in Everett, Wash., between June 1 and Dec. 23 of last year.
According to cops, Beardo had either brandished a gun or implied that he was armed with one during each of his robberies.
Franzwa was arrested Friday before noon outside of a bank that was the setting of a heist back in July, reported the Seattle Post-Intelligencer. Franza, a 57-year-old resident of Everett, was subsequently booked at the Snohomish County Jail for seven counts of first-degree robbery. It has not been revealed how much money Franzwa managed to steal in the heists.
In order to gain evidence on Franzwa, authorities had conducted a thorough surveillance operation.
