Batman v Superman finally has its subtitle – Dawn of Justice – and a new logo that combines iconography from both DC Comic heroes.

Batman v Superman: Dawn Of Justice

Since the Batman/Superman movie was first announced last year on the heels of the success of Man of Steel starring Henry Cavill, fans of the superheroes have been waiting to learn what the subtitle would say about the sequel. Dawn of Justice is without a doubt a wink and a nod to the planned Justice League movie that will follow it in 2018.

In addition to revealing the formal title, Warner Bros. has also unveiled the official logo. The logo features the House of El glyph Cavill wore on the front of his Superman suit encased in the outline of a bat. The bat, incidentally, is the same one on the Batman suit Ben Affleck will be wearing in the film.

Joining Cavill and Affleck in the Zach Snyder-directed sequel are newcomers Jesse Eisenberg (Alfred), Gal Gadot (Diana Prince/Wonder Woman), Jeremy Irons (Alfred) and Holly Hunter. Amy Adams, Laurence Fishburne and Diane Lane will all be reprising their Man of Steel roles.

Batman v Superman: Dawn Of Justice, which officially began filming this week, will premiere May 6, 2016.
