Donald Trump’s youngest son, Barron Trump, 18, a freshman at NYU, has had several professors warn that his father threatens the country.
Barron started his first day of university by visiting the dean’s office before attending his first class. He was shadowed by bodyguards everywhere he went.
In October 2020, 21 educators in the Stern School of Business at NYU signed an open letter warning about the dangers Trump poses to the U.S. and other political figures. Among the more than 1,000 signatures from faculty members across top business schools in the U.S. (including Yale, Harvard and Columbia) was that of Stern’s interim dean, JP Eggers.
The open letter was written by Harvard University professor Deepak Malhotra, who claimed Trump “denigrates science, peddles in lies, incites violence, attempts to delegitimize the press, politicizes everything from the justice department to the CDC to the postal service, and seeks to undermine the integrity of American elections.”
He stressed, “It is time for business leaders to declare publicly what so many have been saying privately: that President Trump is unfit to lead and is a threat to the Republic.”
The letter continued, “Demanding a peaceful transfer of power ought not to reveal your political affiliation…and safeguarding our laws, institutions and norms is important to both Republicans and Democrats.”
Barron, a startling 6’7″ tall, is set to live off-campus at the nearby Trump Tower and commute regularly.
Given NYU’s characteristically progressive reputation, many are confused as to why Barron chose a school with a primarily liberal student population instead of more historically conservative schools like Dartmouth or Princeton.
Barron was expected to be a Trump delegate to the RNC until his mother, Melania Trump, vetoed the idea.
Barron’s siblings attended the University of Pennsylvania like his father.
