Barbra Streisand returned to The Tonight Show for the first time in 50 years, and the legendary entertainer joined host Jimmy Fallon for a duet.
“I know you’re not here for me. You’re here for Barbra,” Fallon announced when he walked onto the stage to do his monologue.
Audiences didn’t have to wait long to see Streisand, who sang a medley of duets from her new album “Partners,” with Fallon singing the parts of Elvis, Michael Bublé and Blake Shelton.
Streisand, then switched places with Fallon, sitting behind the desk and interviewing Fallon. Fallon thanked Streisand for singing with him, and, in return, Streisand poked a bit of fun at Fallon’s singing abilities, telling him, “Don’t give up your night job.”
Streisand talked about her 50-year absence from late night television, and recalled her first visit to The Tonight Show when she was just 18.
Streisand didn’t give any reason for her decision not to appear on late night television, but she did address her scary concert experience that sparked her 27-years without performing.
As the only guest of the night, Streisand closed out the show acting as musical guest, singing “Come Rain or Come Shine,” which features John Mayer on the album.
