Ballet Hispánico’s ‘Carmen.maquia’ Dance Review: Audaciously Sexy Contemporary Dance

Ballet Hispánico performed a stunning version of Carmen.maquia at Harlem’s iconic Apollo Theater on Saturday night. Ballet Hispánico, the nation’s top Latino dance company, adapted Georges Bizet’s classic piece with contemporary and Spanish dance elements for a scorchingly sexy night of dance. The work was originally performed at the Apollo in 2014 as the company’s first narrative piece in its 50-year history. All we can say is give us more!
