During his Sunday night MTV Video Music Awards performance at Yankee Stadium, rapper and singer Bad Bunny kissed a female backup dancer and a male backup dancer.

The Puerto Rican reggaeton musician shared both smooches mid-performance of his hit tune, “Tití Me Preguntò.”

He was likely in good spirits after becoming the first non-English-language artist to take home the Artist of the Year award.

Bad Bunny is also only the second Latin artist to win the award — Camila Cabello won back in 2018.

Bad Bunny has been an advocate for challenging traditional masculinity and heteronormativity throughout his successful career. In July 2020, he became the first digital cover star of Playboy.

In the cover story, he opened up about his thoughts about sexuality and self-expression.

“I think that sex is a giant world,” the “Me Porto Bonito” singer shared, “and everyone is free to see it as they want and do it with whoever they want, however they want, with infinite possibilities. In the end, we are human beings. Everybody feels, everybody falls in love with whoever they’re meant to.”

Bad Bunny added that it’s very important to him “to make sure everybody feels part of the culture of reggaeton.”

Is Bad Bunny Gay?

In an interview with Los Angeles Times, he explained that his own sexuality feels fluid. “It does not define me. At the end of the day, I don’t know if in 20 years I will like a man. One never knows in life. But at the moment I am heterosexual and I like women.”

After winning Artist of the Year, Bad Bunny gave a heartfelt acceptance speech. The artist said in Spanish, “From my heart, I don’t have words to describe what I feel and the pride of receiving this at Yankee Stadium. I always knew that I could become a huge artist without changing my culture, my slang and my language.”

Bad Bunny was also nominated for Best Latin, Song of the Summer and Album of the Year.
