Backstreet Boys Singer Nick Carter Accused Of Sexually Assaulting a 15-Year-Old in 2003
A lawsuit filed in Nevada on Monday accused Backstreet Boys singer Nick Carter of sexually assaulting a 15-year-old girl multiple times.
The plaintiff, who is from Pennsylvania and was identified in the lawsuit as “A.R.,” reported the incidents to her mother, who then informed state police.
Carter allegedly assaulted the then-15-year-old girl in 2003, when the singer was 22 and 23. She has claimed that Carter raped her in a bedroom on his yacht and then instructed her to keep his actions a secret.
Additional allegations assert that Carter assaulted A.R. on another boat and on a bus, and infected A.R. with HPV. The lawsuit also stated that Carter “knowingly provided alcohol and drugs to then-minor A.R. on this occasion and caused her to become intoxicated on his yacht.”
This is not the first time that Carter has been accused of such conduct. In December, Shannon “Shay” Ruth sued him for raping her when she was 17 and he was 21. He was also involved in a similar case brought by singer Melissa Schuman, who claimed that he raped her in 2003.
Carter has denied both allegations and has yet to face criminal charges for either incident. His lawyers have since filed counterclaim.
