During the After The Final Rose special following The Bachelor finale, host Chris Harrison announced that the next season of The Bachelorette would start off with two stars – Kaitlyn Bristowe and Britt Nilsson.

The Bachelorettes Names

Harrison, who’d been hyping a surprise during the After the Final Rose special, revealed that both Bristowe and Nilsson were named Bachelorettes by producers. However, the 25 men chosen to court them will ultimately decide which woman would make the better potential wife. Whomever they choose will take the men on as suitors.

Bristowe, 29, finished in third place in Chris Soules‘ season of The Bachelor after he moved forward with Becca Tilley and his now fiancee Whitney Bischoff. Bristowe, who’s from Vancouver, B.C., works as a dance instructor and has an affinity for rap music.

As for Nilsson, she was eliminated in the seventh week of the competition after a third fellow contestant told Soules her word wasn’t to be trusted. The 27-year-old waitress from Hollywood has aspirations of making it in the entertainment industry.

When asked about being a part of a season of The Bachelorette that will kick off with both of them, Nilsson said, “It will be fun,” leading Bristowe to add, “It will be a lot of things. Fun might be one of them.”

“They’re not necessarily thrilled about this, but they’re also not horrified or upset,” a source told Us Weekly. “Clearly they both wanted to be the next Bachelorette, so they’re happy with sharing the role rather than not having it at all.”

While Bristowe and Nilsson might be shrugging off the potential awkwardness of their situation, fellow female Bachelor contestants have been less diplomatic about it on Twitter. Not only are they skeptical of having the two women compete – they are largely in favor of giving the title to Bristowe.
