Former Bachelorette contestant Josh Seiter has revealed that he performed a social experiment where he pretended to be transgender for months to see the actual experience.
In an episode of the podcast Prime Time With Alex Stein, Seiter initially started the interview dressed as a woman before he took off his costume, saying, “I faked being a faker. I pretended to be a pretender.”
Seiter declared, “For the last five months, I’ve been conducting a social experiment online to expose how gullible and how delusional the left is.”
He said, “The whole idea of postmodern gender ideology is ridiculous and absurd, and I tried to be the most extreme version of it and take it to its logical end to show how ridiculous it is that people can believe that biological men are magically transformed into women because they are having a gender crisis.”
Seiter went on to equate being transgender to chronic mental illnesses like schizophrenia. According to the American Psychiatric Association, gender dysphoria/gender non-conforming presentations (like being transgender) are considered mental disorders.
Seiter first posted the news that he was transgender on Instagram, accompanied by the statement, “I no longer want to hide who I am, and I no longer want to deal with the mental turmoil that comes with suppressing such an important [part] of me.”
“So, I ask for your thoughts and prayers – and patience – as I transition,” he wrote.
Seiter later reported that his announcement had been met with a slew of death threats, which had made him “fear for my safety” at the time. He soon started to post videos of himself in feminine outfits with makeup while he discussed the transgender experience.
Although Seiter attempted to present a supportive front for the demographic, many were suspicious of his thinly veiled, mocking disdain for the community.
Seiter was eliminated in the first week of Kaitlyn Bristowe’s 2015 season of The Bachelorette.
