The latest couple to emerge from The Bachelor franchise has revealed that their engagement is off. Emily Maynard and Brad Womack have confirmed that two months after their reality television proposal, they will not walk down the aisle.
"We are no longer engaged," 25-year-old Maynard told People. The single mother later told the magazine that she wanted to end speculation and "get back to normal" so she could raise her 6-year-old daughter, Ricki, in peace.
Maynard will make a television announcement of the breakup during a pre-taped interview with Bachelor host Chris Harrison. Womack decided not to appear with Maynard during the interview, but took full blame for their failed romance. "The demise of our relationship," Womack told People, "was completely my fault."
This isn't the first time that Maynard has addressed her breakup with the Bachelor heartthrob. "There's nothing going on between us," the North Carolina native told Life & Style on June 1. "It's over."
Maynard tried to cover her tracks by posting on Facebook that she and Womack were not allowed to speak to the media regarding their relationship. But in less than two weeks, The Bachelor fans will receive final confirmation that the Maynard-Womack whirlwind is, in fact, over. Maynard's interview with Harrison will air during the July 11 broadcast of The Bachelorette on ABC.
