The Bachelor picked up where last week’s episode left off, as Kimberly heads back to the mansion to find Chris Soules for a few extra minutes of conversation that she hopes will convince him to let her stay. To the girls’ surprise, Chris ends up welcoming Kimberly back into the competition due to her persistence.

The Bachelor Recap

The following morning, Chris debriefs with Chris Harrison about the debauchery of the night before. Afterwards, Chris Harrison heads over to the women’s residence to deliver the first date card of season 19. Jade, Tandra, Ashley I., Mackenzie, Kimberly and Tara are all on the roster for a date that involves a pool party and then tractor racing down a Los Angeles street. Since Ashley I. won the race, she gets some alone time with Chris. After some awkward chatting on a tractor with Ashley I., Chris decided to sweep Mackenzie away for a dinner date. On the date, she reveals that she has a son named Kale. Chris, who is perhaps a fan of the super food as well, gives Mackenzie a kiss and a rose.

Megan, who spent some time snooping around Chris’s digs with Jillian, gets the first official one-on-one date. Megan hops in a limo, gets in a plane and then in a helicopter with Chris and the two fly off to the Grand Canyon for a picnic. During the picnic, Megan reveals that she was hesitant to come on the show, but after her father’s death and her mother’s encouragement she decided to take a chance. Like Mackenzie, Megan gets a kiss and a rose to stick around for another week.

For the final group date that came with the message, “Til death do us part,” it’s Kelsey, Trina, Alissa, Tracy, Jillian, Becca, Ashley S., Juelia, Kaitlyn, Britt and Amber – who says, “I don’t want to die today. Death is zero amount romantic.” Amber becomes even less enthusiastic about the date when she and the other women pull up in their limo to a dark lot and hear growling outside and realize that “zombies” are banging on the windows. Chris then informs them that their date includes taking out the zombies with paintball guns.

In the zombie-shooting game, Ashley S. is by far the most proficient shot. However, she’s a bit overzealous and keeps shooting the people dressed up like Walking Dead extras after they’ve fallen. Ashley gets a chance for some time with Chris after he sneaks off with Kaitlyn and she seems to blow it with some inane questions about spiders and telling him how great his leather smells. Chris moves on for some time with Britt, but ultimately gives Kaitlyn the date rose.

At the cocktail party, Mackenzie, Megan and Kaitlyn can all relax, as they’re all guaranteed another week in Bachelor Mansion. In search of a rose, Whitney cozies up to Chris next to a fire with some whiskey. Ashley I., after telling Mackenzie that she’s a virgin, has Chris rub her Jasmine-inspired belly-button ring and make-out with her. Before everyone gets the last-minute time in with Chris, Chris Harrison announces it’s time for the rose ceremony to begin.

Chris gives the remaining roses to Britt, Ashley I., Trina, Kelsey, Samantha, Juelia, Amber, Tracy, Jillian, Jade, Nikki, Becca, Carly, Whitney and Ashley S., which means Tandra, Kimberly, Alissa, Jordan and Tara are all sent home.
