The Bachelor kicked off its 19th season on Monday with Chris Soules as the leading man looking to find a wife.

The Bachelor Recap

Chris, 33, endeared himself to Bachelor Nation as the genuine, romantic Iowan farmer who just so happened to be a millionaire. In the opening moments of the premiere, the show gave a look at Chris’ bucolic lifestyle, which includes riding his motorcycle through cornfields, shoveling grain, fishing with his dad and being a regular everywhere around the small town of Arlington, Iowa. Leaving the farm during harvest, it’s time for Chris to meet the women.

First 15 Women

Britt, 27, Waitress: The first person to step out of the limo, Britt saunters up to Chris and brings him into a passionate embrace. The hug, which lasts several seconds past comfortable, no doubt leaves an impression on the bachelor. In addition to liking to give people surprisingly intimate hugs, Britt also like to hike and journal.

Jillian, 25, TV News Producer: Jillian is decidedly type A. The DC native boasts about her prowess in the weight room in her introduction video, which shows her doing weighted pull-ups. It’s clear that Jillian will be taking the Rose Ceremonies and the shot at Chris’ heart as a very serious competition.

Whitney, 29, Fertility Nurse: Whitney, who hails from Chicago, lays it on thick with Chris as she makes her grand entrance to the Bachelor mansion. According to her, “Chris is America’s prince,” but she’d, of course, like to make him exclusively her husband.

Amanda, 24, Ballet Teacher: Amanda, when asked why she’s single, asks, “Can I say, ‘Because I’m f—king crazy?’” She promises to bring some drama to the show, should Chris be as intrigued by her crazy as audiences are sure to be and keep her around. Amanda’s honesty doesn’t stop with the admission of craziness, as she goes on to reveal that she’s happy living at home not paying bills and having her mother wait on her.

Mackenzie, 21, Dental Assistant: The most memorable thing about Mackenzie is that she has a son whom she’s named Kale.

Kelsey, 28, School Counselor: In her mid 20s, Kelsey reveals she was left a widow after her husband died suddenly on his walk to work. Since then, she’s kept a journal for a hobby. She thinks of herself as “a regular girl” who’d be perfect for a “regular guy” like Chris.

Megan, 24, Make-Up Artist: Megan is all nerves as she peels herself out of the limousine. Thankfully, Chris is so overwhelmed by his attraction to her that he doesn’t seem to mind that she barely raises her voice above a whisper while speaking to him.

Ashley I., 26, Journalist: The first impression that Ashley makes is that she can’t walk in her dress in heels. Again, Chris is too bowled over by her looks to take much notice of the awkwardness of her gait.

Trina, 33, Special Education Teacher: Trina introduces herself to Chris with a nice big scream and then a sultry, suggestive eyebrow raise. The two don’t seem to have much of a connection, but Trina seems determined to forge ahead anyway.

Reegan, 28, Donated Tissue Specialist: Reegan decides it would be cute and creative to use her profession during her introduction: her prop is a cooler containing something that looks remarkably like a heart. Thankfully the heart is fake – though so is Chris’ smile during the entire charade.

Tara, 26, Sport Fishing Enthusiast: Tara, who is also pretty enthusiastic about whiskey, decided to ditch the evening wear in favor of Daisy Dukes and cowboy boots – before changing into a black cocktail dress. She plays into Chris’ more country sensibilities and seems to charm him.

Amber, 29, Bartender: Amber’s bright idea for her first impression is to cart along her teddy bear, which she claims she can’t live without.

Nikki, 26, Cheerleader: Nikki is this season of the Bachelor’s resident NFL cheerleader. She flew in for the meeting with Chris straight from Peru and sounds a bit like she’d rather be back there.

Ashley S., 24, Hair Stylist: The Brooklyn-based Ashley S. can’t live without her lip gloss, coffee and journaling and counts Sex and the City as one of her all-time favorite movies. The biggest takeaway about Ashley S. is that she looks as though she’s in a perpetual state of surprise.

Kaitlyn, 29, Dance Instructor: Kaitlyn doesn’t waste any time in cutting to the chase about her attraction to Chris, stating upfront, “You can plow the f—k out of my field, any day.”

After meeting only 15 women, Chris is told to go inside to chat with them by Chris Harrison. After shutting down Kaitlyn’s attempt at a joke and delivering a prepared speech, Chris gets some one-on-one time with the women. The bachelor already seems taken with Britt, but perhaps not quite so sure about Whitney, who says she’s already been thinking a lot about them as a couple.

Chris was surprised to learn after getting some time at the cocktail party with the first 15 women that he was about to meet fifteen more.

Next 15 Women

Samantha, 27, Fashion Designer: Based in L.A. and also previously a resident of New York City, Samantha grew up in the country and could see herself moving back to the country to raise a family.

Michele, 25, Wedding Cake Decorator: Michele, like Kaitlyn wasn’t shy in declaring how much she appreciated Chris’ looks. “ You are a babe, so that’s good news,” she says upon meeting the farmer.

Juelia, 24, Esthetician: Juelia claims to have something of a sense of adventure and would love to travel the world. She’s also serious about her faith.

Becca, 25, Chiropractic Assistant: Chris is immediately taken with Becca, gushing about how she looks “ridiculous” and is “out of the world.”

Tandra, 30, Executive Assistant: Tandra made sure that Chris wouldn’t forget her, riding up to their meeting on a motorcycle. She completes the worthy gimmick with a hair model hair toss.

Alissa, 24, Flight Attendant: “Smoking is prohibited on this aircraft … unless you’re smoking hot. Hey Chris,” Alissa quips in her introduction. Her prop for the evening was an airline seatbelt.

Jordan, 24, Student: Jordan seemed to have forgotten to come equipped with a prop and/or gimmick and snatched up a nip of whiskey from a plane or mini bar to give to Chris.

Nicole, 31, Real Estate Agent: Nicole decided that since Chris likes farming, he must also like farm animals and “hams it up” with a pig nose upon exiting the limo. She even delivers a pitch perfect “oink oink.”

Brittany, 26, WWE Wrestler: Brittany declares that no one will ever catch her in a long skirt, opting to put her muscled thighs on display whenever possible.

Carly, 29, Cruise Ship Singer: Carly arrived with a pink mini karaoke machine and a song that she’d written for Chris, earning the derision of the fellow women.

Tracy, 29, Fourth Grade Teacher: Tracy arrived with a note penned by one of her students to Chris, “Dear farmer, please like my teacher so she doesn’t end up lonely with 9 cats.”

Bo, 25, Plus-Sized Model: Not only is Bo a model, but she was also in the top 12 on the Women’s World Qualifying for surfing.

Kimberly, 28, Yoga Instructor: The Long Island, NY native is a self-professed hopeless romantic.

Kara, 25, High School Soccer Coach: Kara, who is from Kentucky, makes it clear from the start that she’d like to start having babies as soon as possible.

Jade, 28, Cosmetics Developer: Chris seems to be won over by Jade, who moved to L.A. to start her own business.

The Rose Ceremony

Back inside, Chris has to weather some more odd flirting, as Kaitlyn dons tights to show him how to do the 6-step, Bo declares that she loves meat and  Ashley S. talks about people being like onions. Tara, who is out of her cowboy boots, is now completely in her cups, even sipping whiskey during an interview session.

Chris ends up giving Britt the First Impression Rose, then some more roses to Kaitlyn, Jade, Samantha, Ashley I., Tandra, Nikki, Kelsey, Megan, Alissa, Amber, Juelia, Becca, Trina, Tracy, Tara, Jordan, Jillian, Whitney, Carly, and Ashley S during the Rose Ceremony.

Reegan, Amanda, Michelle, Nicole, Brittany, Bo, Kimberly, and Kara all head home.
