Bachelor Pad 2 Season Premiere: TV's New Low

If you thought The Bachelor was bad, wait 'till you get a load of the entire Bachelor Pad. If you weren't lucky enough to catch the first season of ABC's new gift to television's lowest common denominator, don't worry — Season 2 has just premiered, bringing the best of the bad along with it.

The show puts 18 previous Bachelor and Bachelorette contestants — both castoffs and winners — under the roof of the Bachelor Mansion and has them compete for "a second chance at finding love," not to mention a grand prize of $250,000. Of course, they first have to avoid being eliminated, which is not easy on a show where your castmates will just vote you off each week if they don't like you.

This year we can all look forward to seeing old favorites, most of whom hail from Seasons 14 and 15 of the shows, reminding us all that reality show audiences have a short memory. Vienna Girardi, Kasey Kahl, and Jake Pavelka were arguably the most anticipated veterans, and when they arrived a pall of awkwardness settled over the otherwise festive occasion. The only arrival that could have possibly had them beat was that of Holly Durst and Michael Stagliano, who broke off their engagement less than a year ago.

Though Bachelor Pad 2 might make you feel like you're watching a spray-tanned, singles version of the Island of Misfit Toys, it's sure to lead to some memorable television moments. You can catch Bachelor Pad 2, hosted by Chris Harrison, Monday nights on ABC.
