B.B. King, whose daughter believes he is the victim of elder abuse, was hospitalized recently after suffering a minor heart attack.
King’s daughter Patty brought her father to the hospital Thursday after coming to the conclusion that her father was dehydrated and had not been eating, reported 8 News Now in Las Vegas. Tests determined that King likely suffered a minor heart attack sometime prior to the hospitalization.
Before getting her father to the hospital, Patty called the police over an alleged dispute with the blues musician’s longtime manager Laverne Toney, according to TMZ. Toney had apparently tried to keep Patty from taking B.B. King to receive medical attention. However, when police arrived they agreed with Patty that he needed to be checked out by doctors.
Back in November, Patty and her husband filed a police report accusing Toney of elder abuse and burglary. In the report, Toney and her assistant were accused of withholding medication from B.B. King and stealing between $20-30 million of his money.
