Rapper Azealia Banks is defending herself after a Los Angeles party with Russell Crowe turned ugly. Crowe allegedly put his hands on her after she mentioned to a friend that his upcoming horror movie wouldn’t be good.
“I don’t know, maybe Russell was supposed to be in that movie,” Banks told Us Weekly. “But then Russell turns to me, and he was like, ‘Hey, you haven’t done anything in your career, and you’re so young, and you don’t know what you’re talking about… I’m just like, ‘Ok, well, you’re not poppin’ anymore. Your best days are behind you, Russell Crowe. Nobody’s checking for Russell Crowe right now.'”
Banks was kicked out of the party and she claims that Crowe directed racial slurs at her. In a deleted Facebook post, she talked about the incident at length.
Rapper RZA, who brought Banks to the party, however, refuted her story on social media, taking Crowe’s side on the matter in a well-written, long post on Facebook.
Banks said she doesn’t care if people believe her story, she wants people to simply concentrate on her music. “I am tired of defending myself,” she said. “You know, it’s just really unfortunate. People are going to think whatever they want to think about me. Y’all need to think about this damn music.
