Azealia Banks expounded on her views about race in America in a recent interview with Playboy in which she name-checked Lorde, Kanye West and Jay Z.

Banks, in her latest unfiltered interview, commented extensively on race and racial bias. Making headlines for her social media presence for years, Banks thinks there’s a double standard when it comes to the way she’s depicted for her posts as opposed to a white artist like Lorde.

“It’s always about race,” she told Playboy. “Lorde can run her mouth [on Twitter] and talk s–t about all these other bitches, but y’all aren’t saying she’s angry. If I have something to say, I get pushed into the corner.”

When pressed about why she was bringing race into the dialogue again, Banks said, “Because y’all motherf—ers still owe me reparations! [laughs] That’s why it’s still about race. Really, the generational effects of Jim Crow and poverty linger on. As long as I have my money, I’m getting the f–k out of here and I’m gonna leave y’all to your own devices.”

“I hate everything about this country,” Banks added. The singer went further, calling out a particular group of people in American that she has a problem with and would like to get as far away from as possible. “I hate fat white Americans. All the people who are crunched into the middle of America, the real fat and meat of America, are these racist conservative white people who live on their farms,” she said. “Those little teenage girls who work at Kmart and have a racist grandma—that’s really America.”

Banks went on to talk about her hatred of her second grade teacher and the curriculums in American schools that are light on black history. She also doesn’t think that black people should be Christians.

A fan of few, Banks even takes issue with outspoken rapper Kanye West – but has respect for Jay Z. “Even Kanye West plays a little bit of that game,” she said. “”‘Please accept me, white world.'” Unlike West, “Jay Z hasn’t played any of those games, and that’s what I like,” she noted. “That’s the only person I have my eye set on.”
