Azealia Banks Australian Tour Promoters Call Her Behavior ‘Disgraceful,’ Rapper Calls Aussies ‘Racist’

After Azealia Banks’ tumultuous Australian tour, one of the Aussie promoters, Bizarro, has released a statement calling the singer’s behavior “disgraceful.”

Banks posted on Instagram Tuesday saying she would not be returning to the country following an unpredictable series of events, including abruptly canceling her Brisbane show, missing her Melbourne show due to “visa issues” and repeatedly insulting her fanbase and promoters.

“Last time I was in Brisbane and y’all threw s—t on the stage and d—n near almost f—king hit me in the face with a f—king bottle of soda or whatever that s—t was. That was the most racist, most demoralizing experience of my f—king life and right now I’m on a really good track,” Banks said in an Instagram story.

In another post, the star wrote about her Australian fans: “YALL WHITE PEOPLE DOWN HERE ARE BROKE AND RACIST LMAO.”

Banks called both promoters, Bizarro and Point Productions, a “scam,” saying they “are now trying to cite all these stupid things as reasons not to pay me a dime. She also referred to the promoters as “pubic lice.”

Bizarro responded to her claims of not getting paid in a statement that described the tour as “the most physically and mentally draining experience in this industry.”

The statement detailed the singer’s grueling scheduling, visa and flight issues and the promoters’ attempts to address each problem.

“After hours of desperate work, she claimed that we were dragging our feet,” the statement said.

It continued to say they had to spend the day leading up to the Sydney show “ensuring Azealia was kept happy for her performance,” as the singer was liable to cancel last minute if she was upset. While in Sydney, the statement said, Bizarro discovered Banks had been “sending abusive messages to her manager.”

The promoter continued to insist that they, along with Point Productions, fulfilled their contractual obligations.

“We were not naive to Azealia’s reputation, but we were excited by her as an artist and felt confident that these were over sensationalized by the media and that she meant well,” the statement concluded. “The lack of care she shows to her team, the people she works with and her fans was truly disappointing to see.”

Banks took to Instagram today in response to the claims.

“Everybody knows, Azaelia Banks is a f—king diva, I don’t have time for f—king bulls—t,” she wrote. “In this attempt to assassinate my character and all that, there’s no mention of my motherf—king money. Where is the money, b—ch? I don’t give a f—k what you think about my character.”

Both promoters have continued to insist that the star was paid.
