Avril Lavigne, the famously private Canadian singer, confessed to a fan that her music career has been put on pause due to some health issues.

Lavigne, 30, received a message on Twitter from @AvrilMusic Chart, that read, “It’s been like two years since you completed your last album. Are you in the studio right now or working on something?”

Responding in a direct message, Lavigne wrote, “I feel bad because I haven’t been able to say anything to the fans to let them no (sic) why I’ve been absent. I’m torn as I’m quite private.”

“I’m not feeling well,” the singer-songwriter added. “I’m having some health issues. So please keep me in your prayers.”

A rep for Lavigne confirmed the authenticity of the Twitter conversation to Billboard. The rep further stated that Lavigne is not pregnant, but would not reveal the specific health issue that Lavigne is battling.
