The Swedish musician was found dead on April 20 at Muscat, Oman. According to TMZ’s sources, the cause of death was a broken piece of glass, possibly from a wine bottle, that Avicii used to take his own life. He either did the deed on his wrist or neck, though neither location can be confirmed.
Avicii’s parents released a letter six days after his death, one passage within which strongly implied the artist took his own life:
“He really struggled with thoughts about Meaning, Life, Happiness.
He could not go on any longer.
He wanted to find peace.”

Moreover, the artist suffered from pancreatitis, which flares up from alcohol. Avicii had retired from touring in 2016, though he began composing new songs last year, expressing his passion for his craft.
