Austin Mahone and girlfriend Camila Cabello have decided to break up not long after officially going public as a couple.

Cabello announced the split during an interview with KISS 96.1. When the DJ asked the Fifth Harmony singer about Mahone, she replied, “We’re actually not together anymore,” adding, “Hey, things happen.”

According to Cabello, the breakup occurred “recently,” though she’s apparently already to move on with someone else, saying on the show that she’d like “some mistletoe action” this holiday season.

Cabello confirmed her romantic relationship with Mahone a few weeks ago on Watch What Happens Live. When host Andy Cohen asked which Fifth Harmony member was dating the singer, Cabello said, “That would be me…He’s a really good guy.”

She added, “I think we’ve known each other for a really long time. We’ve known each other for like a year and a half now, since we were on X-Factor.”

Cabello and Mahone were linked together as early as August 2014.  “Austin caught Camila’s eye when they were both in New York for the MTV VMAs,” a friend of the pair told People at the time. “They met the day before at the Arthur Ashe Kids Day and have been in touch ever since.”
