Australian musician Shannon Noll was charged with one count of assault after he allegedly attacked a bouncer outside an Adelaide strip club in January.
Noll was arrested following a show in Mannum, just east of Adelaide. He has since continued to play concerts. Despite not showing up to his last scheduled court appearance, Noll was still relieved of the charge.
“Shannon is obviously relieved at the result. He has maintained his innocence from the outset and that turned out to be the case today, so very happy about the withdrawal today,” said his lawyer Andy Ey.
Noll himself took to Facebook to air his relief. “Great news as I just found out that the SA Police have withdrawn the assault charge against me. Justice prevails in the end and a big thank you to everyone for the support over the past months. Am looking forward to my next gig this Saturday at Hope Estate – onwards and upwards from here!”
Noll appeared on the 2003 season of Australian Idol, where he came in second to Guy Sebastian. Noll went on to become one of the show best-selling artists.
