Ashley’s Graham‘s first Maxim cover was met with controversy when fans of the model accused the magazine of photoshopping the plus size cover girl to make her appear slimmer.

Graham, 28, has become an in-demand model as of late, and has stood out for her message of body confidence and positivity. Due to the fact that Graham is one of the few well-known plus-size models, fans were quick to take issue with what they believed was a cover shoot that sought to hide some of Graham’s curves.
However, high-fashion photographer Gilles Bensimon has stated that what little photoshop was used for the Maxim shoot, was not to make Graham’s body appear slimmer than it is.
“I shoot this image of Ashley, and we don’t slimmer her at all!!! Sorry because you sound so convinced,” Bensimon wrote on Instagram, according to E! News. “In fact (almost no photoshop) sorry to disappoint you.”
As for Graham, she clearly has no issue with the pictures of her that made it into the pages of Maxim, as she’s been proudly posting them on Instagram.
“More from @maximmag shot by @gilles_bensimon!! Wearing my #AshleyGrahamXSwimsuitsForAll swim collection to be launched in May!!” she captioned one.
She told her followers, “Click the link in my bio for more!” in a post of another picture from the shoot, which features her in lingerie in the backseat of a limo.
The April issue of Maxim hits newsstands April 5.
