Ashlee Simpson Engaged To Evan Ross

Ashlee Simpson and her boyfriend Evan Ross, an actor and son of disco diva Diana Ross, are engaged to be married.

Both Simpson and Ross took to Twitter to announce the engagement news, sharing the same photo of the pair (above) on vacation in Hawaii.

Simpson and Ross took their relationship public back in July when the “Pieces of Me” singer bonded with her boyfriend’s famous mom, reported People magazine. Simpson had accompanied Ross to a party following Diana Ross’ concert in Los Angeles at Aventine Trattoria.

"She was nice and said hello to Diana," a source told People at the time. "Everyone was in a good mood and Ashlee just blended in as Diana's son's girlfriend." The insider also added that Simpson and her now-fiancé were “dancing and kissing” all night.

Ross, who was cast as Messalla in the two final Hunger Games films – Mockingjay Parts 1 & 2 – spoke openly about his love for Jessica Simpson’s younger sister at the Hunger Games: Catching Fire premiere in November. "I'm so in love, and we've got amazing things going on," he told Yahoo Insider. "We inspire each other."

While this will be the first marriage for Ross, Simpson was previously married to Fall Out Boy’s Pete Wentz, with whom she has 5-year-old son Bronx.
