Ashanti Shines At The Grammys In Gold Elie Madi Gown

Ashanti who was nominated for Best New Age Album at this year’s Grammys sparkled in her golden gown.

The singer walked the red carpet in a floor-length wavy gold dress by Yas Couture by Elie Madi. The whole dress was gold, from the high neck line to the long sleeve, catching the attention of everyone around her.

Ashanti paired the dress with a pair of matching gold shoes from Giuseppe Zanotti. She kept her hair simple with a straight bob that framed her face, along with brown smokey eyes and nude glossy lips.

However, just like Rita Ora, Ashanti felt victim to a red carpet wardrobe malfunction. The shining lights of the red carpet caused her chest to be exposed through the gown. The dress was made out of a delicate chain type material that doesn’t have a lining, leaving the singer exposed the whole time.

On top of that, Ashanti shared with her Instagram followers that she was also on vocal rest while at the Grammys. She wrote, “This was sooooo not planned & I was soooo mad I couldn’t do one interview on one of music’s biggest nights but I made it & still had a blast… in silence lol.”

Back in NYC… it’s been a crazy week from meetings to videos to photo shoots & planing the next tour & then a Dr’s visit that changed everything. I was told I have to be put on strict vocal rest… I haven’t spoken since Tuesday…my cords are super irritated.. I started to post a picture of them but that’s TMI 🙈… I hardly ever “Say” this much but I’ve been working so hard & decided not to complain, hit the carpet to simply “Say Less”! However, Ashanti did not let these mishaps stop her from having a great time on one of music’s biggest nights.
