‘Arrow’ Star Stephen Amell Explains Why He Was Removed From Flight After Argument With Wife

Arrow star Stephen Amell took to Twitter to dispel reports that security forcibly removed him from a Delta Airlines flight because of a fight with his wife, Cassandra Jean Amell. The actor clarified that he was asked to leave, not physically removed, because of the onboard argument.

“I was asked to lower my voice and I did,” Amell said. “Approximately 10 minutes later I was asked to leave the flight. And I did so immediately. I was not forcibly removed. I rebooked myself on a Southwest flight 2 hours later and traveled home without any further issue. I let my emotions get the better of me, end of story.”

An air marshal allegedly escorted Amell off the plane.

Delta Airlines said in a statement, “Delta flight 966 on June 21 took a brief, eight-minute departure delay after an unruly customer was deplaned from the aircraft prior to departure in Austin. The flight arrived ahead of schedule at Los Angeles International Airport.”

Amell’s tweet comes after TMZ reported that he was “screaming at his wife in front of a plane full of passengers” and, as a result, was “forcibly removed.” The article also stated that the actor refused to lower his voice and publically embarrassed his wife.

Amell and his wife married the first time on Christmas in the Caribbean in 2012 and a second time five months later in New Orleans.
