Arnold Schwarzenegger was chased by an elephant during a trip to South Africa.
Schwarzenegger, 68, took to Instagram to share a video of his encounter with an elephant. In his caption, The Terminator star joked about the scary encounter and talked about the beauty of elephants while imploring fans to not kill elephants for ivory.
“I couldn’t have written this safari encounter better if it was a movie. I’m absolutely in awe of these beautiful, strong animals, even though some of us had to change our pants after this. We need to stop killing them — take a photo, not a shot. Would you rather be able to experience these creatures or a hunk of ivory? I thought so,” Schwarzenegger’s caption read.
In the video, fans can see the elephant at the front of the vehicle. Then the elephant begins to back up and make its way to the around to the back of the vehicle just as the vehicle is driving away. Noticing the vehicle picking up speed, the elephant begins to charge towards the vehicle.
Schwarzenegger publicist Daniel Ketchell confirmed on Tuesday that the video is real and unstaged, according to Fox 59.
Seibert speculated, “If struggle without context is baffling, heaven without struggle isn’t very interesting.”
The shooter was identified to be John R. Lyons, 24, of Westchester, Illinois.
