Disgraced actor Armie Hammer declared that, even though he is broke, he had “never been happier” following the sexual assault allegations made against him in early 2021.

The Los Angeles County D.A.’s office announced on May 31, 2023, that they would not charge Hammer with sexual assault. They explained that they could not prove him guilty beyond a reasonable doubt due to his complex relationship with the accuser, who was identified only as Effie

On July 14, the actor declared while reflecting on the allegations during an appearance on American comedian Bill Maher’s comedy podcast Club Random with Bill Maher.

Maher noted that he heard that his guest was currently “broke.”

“The good place only comes from walking through hell, you know,” Hammer told the comedian later in the podcast. “It’s like it was a brutal experience.”

He also recalled how somebody “might look at” him and say,” ‘Yeah, but financially, you’re in a very different position than you’ve ever been in your entire life.'”

“And I look at that, and I go, ‘yeah, and you know what it’s taught me is that I don’t need that because I’ve never been happier than I’ve ever been in my entire life,'” the actor declared.

Later on, Hammer also mentioned that he cheated on his wife, Elizabeth Chambers, and used people to make himself feel better.

“I was callous and inconsiderate with people and their emotions and their well-being, and I wanted what I wanted, and I was going to take it at any cost, even if it was at an emotional cost of someone else, and that is s—- behavior,” he claimed.

He even stated, “there are things in my behavior that I have to take accountability for because that is pivotal for me: learning and growing from it.”

In November 2023, Hammer returned to Instagram.

He posted a workout video that showed him lifting weights with one hand.

He also posted a follow-up story, thanking his fans who supported him.
