Arkansas Gov. Sarah Huckabee Sanders Slammed For Attacking Kamala Harris For Not Having Biological Children

Last week, Arkansas Gov. Sarah Huckabee Sanders attacked Vice President Kamala Harris for not having any biological children.

After marrying Doug Emhoff, Harris became a stepmother to his children, Ella Emhoff and Cole Emhoff.

On September 17, Sanders slammed the vice president during a town hall meeting that she moderated for the former president for her lack of children.

“The greatest title I have is that of being a mom,” the Arkansas governor declared. “I have three kids: 12, 10 and nine. And my kids serve as a permanent reminder of everything that is at stake in this country and it’s why I’m here tonight because I want somebody who’s going to stand up and fight for my kids. Not only do my kids serve as a permanent reminder of what’s important, they also keep me humble.” 

“You can walk into a room like this where people cheer when you step onto the stage, and you might think for a second that you’re kind of special, then you go home, and your kids remind you very quickly you’re actually not that big of a deal,” the governor claimed.

The audience’s reaction was a mix of laughs, applause and some booing.

Sanders’ comments were attacked by many pundits on social media. “It’s absolutely moronic, it makes no sense,” tweeted MSNBC host Stephanie Ruhle of the comments. 

Sanders’ words have been echoed on the campaign trail this year. Sen. JD Vance (R-Ohio) has insulted people without children over the years.

In 2021, he said on Fox News that America was being run “by a bunch of childless cat ladies who are miserable at their own lives and the choices that they’ve made, and so they want to make the rest of the country miserable, too. And it’s just a basic fact.”
