Arizona Senate Candidate Kari Lake Gave A Speech In Front Of A Confederate Flag

Kari Lake, the Arizona Republican Senate candidate, delivered a speech while also standing in front of a confederate flag.

In late May, Lake was seen addressing supporters at a campaign event who had gathered in a store in Show Low, Arizona, with a Confederate flag draped on the wall behind her.

A photo posted on the store’s website shows Lake mugging with a supporter with the Confederate flag hanging on the wall.

“So many incredible patriots in Heber-Overgaard, Show Low and the White Mountains,” she mentioned while speaking at the shop.

“America is stepping up,” she added. “Arizona is stepping forward. It’s time to save this great Republic. I’m honored to be in this fight with these amazing patriots.”

The video footage showed the Arizona GOP Senate candidate repeating her claim that her 2022 gubernatorial race defeat to Democrat Katie Hobbs was “a tragedy.”

One supporter told her she deserved to be governor since she won.

“Of course we did,” Lake agreed, “They stole our government.”

Lake lost by almost 17,000 votes.

Most of her speech seemed to be based on her suspicion that fraud had been rampant in America’s elections.

“I’m the only person running for U.S. Senate – either Republican or Democrat – who truly believes there was fraud in the election in 2020,” Lake declared to massive applause. “Anybody believe there wasn’t fraud in 2020?”

During the event, Lake repeated claims about a “rigged election,” which she had been unable to substantiate in court.

“We’re trying to get rid of these damn machines that are corrupt,” Lake told her supporters.

On Friday, she doubled down on the claim in a post.

“Maricopa County committed fraud on the court,” she wrote in an X post. “Because of that @RealMarkFinchem and I are reopening our appeal dealing with the tabulation machines.”

In late March, attorneys representing Lake decided not to contest the defamation case filed against her

The lawsuit, initiated by Maricopa County Recorder Stephen Richer in 2023, accused the candidate of defaming him following her defeat in the 2022 Arizona gubernatorial race, where she did not concede and made unproven accusations of election fraud.

The lawsuit also claims that she engaged in a systematic campaign to circulate falsehoods about Richer’s actions as recorder, which caused him to face harassment and many threats to his life.

Among Lake’s unproven claims were allegations that the Maricopa Country recorder tampered with the ballot boxes and placed 300,000 false votes in them.

On April 14, Lake delivered a speech to her supporters in Lake Havasu City, Arizona. In it, she implored them to prepare for the upcoming 2024 presidential campaign – and “strap on a Glock.”
