Rep. Drew Christensen Proposes Bill To Ban ‘Bachelor’ Arie Luyendyk Jr. From Minnesota

The long-running ABC television series The Bachelor has featured a wide array of bachelors in pursuit of love, but one of its most recent stars, Arie Luyendyk Jr., is quickly becoming one of the most hated stars the show has hosted.

ARIE LUYENDYK JR. DUMPS BACHELOR WINNER

Becca Kufrin was ostensibly the winner of the twenty-second season, getting a marriage proposal from Luyendyk until he dumped her for the runner-up, Lauren Burnham. This decision proved controversial amongst the show’s fans, spurring Minnesota Representative Drew Christensen to introduce a bill concerning Luyendyk. The bill explains how it’s “state policy that every person” living in Minnesota “has a right to live free from the presence of Arie Luyendyk, Jr.”

Christensen first proposed the bill on Monday, when he promised to pen a bill banning Luyendyk if his tweet could score one thousand retweets.

Back in 2008, Luyendyk was arrested for driving a vehicle with a suspended driver’s license. His mugshot from that encounter has begun making the rounds again on social media. As for Kufrin, she’s been selected to be the star in the next season of The Bachelorette, meaning she may yet find her soulmate.
