Ariana Grande Apologizes To Fans For Licking Donuts In Video

Security camera footage showing Ariana Grande licking donuts in a shop with her rumored new boyfriend Ricky Alvarez, saying, “I hate America,” has caused for some backlash for the pop star. Grande has already apologized about the comments she made in the video last week, but she recently shared a video with a more in-depth apology than the one she posted on Twitter.

ARIANA GRANDE APOLOGIZES FOR LICKING DONUTS AND “I HATE AMERICA” COMMENTS

The security footage shows Grande, Alvarez and two other friends at the Wolfee Donut shop in Lake Elsinore, Calif. The video, which was released by TMZ has gone viral, and it shows Grande and Alvarez, subtly licking some donuts on display, before moving to a different display and daring each other to lick other donuts. Her other friends laugh, but look in shock as Grande and Alvarez, whom she later is seen kissing, continue tampering with the donuts.

At the end of the video, an employee brings out a tray of new donuts, to which Grande exclaims, “What the f—k is that? I hate Americans. I hate America.”

“I am EXTREMELY proud to be an American and I’ve always made it clear that I love my country. What I said in a private moment with my friend, who was buying donuts, was taken out of context and I am sorry for not using more discretion with my choice of words,” she tweeted. The Wolfee Donuts shop owner took the video to detectives and filed a report, saying the donuts had been deliberately tampered with. However, the authorities did not believe a crime was committed, instead, public health officials will be investigating the donut shop for keeping food on display indirect contact with the public. A day after her Twitter apology, the 22-year-old celeb posted a video on YouTube titled, ‘sorry babes,’ where she again apologizes for the released footage. “I missed my opportunity to actually sincerely apologize and express how I was feeling because I was too busy preaching about my issues with the food industry,” Grande said in the video apology to her fans. “I feel like now is my chance [to apologize] before the whole thing blows over,” the singer said. Unfortunately, the whole “donut fiasco” —as she calls it in the video—has already blown over.

“Seeing a video of yourself behaving poorly, that you have no idea was taken, is such a rude awakening, that you don’t know what to do — I was so disgusted with myself,” Grande said. “Not here to make any excuses or justify my behavior, because I can’t…. I’m just here to apologize,” she added.

“I never want to be anything but a positive influence on my babes or my loves or anyone who pays attention to me… I feel like I let y’all down—which sucks,” Grande stated in the video. On Twitter, #WeForgiveYouAriana trended as fans reached out to the singer.

Others weren’t as forgiving, however.

YouTube user, tomiatoe, even made a parody video of Grande’s apology. Watch the video below:
