You might not think that soul singer Aretha Franklin, 69, tops the list of likely stars to call off their weddings on Facebook, but that is exactly what happened on Monday.
The "Respect" singer must have gotten swept up in the romance of the holidays and the fact that everyone was either tying the knot or making plans to, when she announced her plans to marry longtime companion William "Willie" WIlkerson early this January.
"Will and I have decided we were moving a little too fast, and there were a number of things that had not been thought through thoroughly," she wrote in the statement. "There will be no wedding at this time. We will not comment on it any further because of the very personal and sensitive nature of it. We appreciate all of the many well wishes from friends."
Though Franklin suffered some health problems in 2010, she subsequently lost 85 pounds and reported feeling "great."
