AR500 Releases Body Armor Based On Star Wars’ Boba Fett

AR500 has released body armor based on one of Star Wars most popular character, Boba Fett.

The collaboration – which included Heckler & Koch, TEA Headsets, Sog Knives & Tools, Armasight, SureFire, Wilcox Industries Corp, Team Wendy and artist Ryan B. Flowers – has produced a set of ballistic armor modeled after the Mandalorians, a fictional culture from the Star Wars universe.

“GalacTac Project… A special project that we have been working on with other industry leaders,” AR500 Armor wrote on its official Facebook account. On Monday, their Facebook posted a status update noting how their “project is officially ‘trending’ on social media.”

“GalacTac Project update! Due to an increase in interest in the armor, we shared before, that project is officially “trending” as one of the most talked about stories on social media. The armor will be at our booth starting tomorrow around noon (That has been pushed back until Wednesday due to unforeseen circumstances) until the end of the event. We hope to see everyone at SHOT 2016 Booth #6605,” their post reads.

Flowers designed and also built the prototype. Originally, Flowers sold it (available on his website for $325 a piece) for airsoft players. The costume comes with helmets chest/shoulder armor, gauntlets, cod piece, jet/jump pack, and it comes in either olive, tan, or black.

No word yet on whether the armor will be for sale in the near future.
