Apple is reportedly getting ready to release a gold-colored iPad in an effort to boost lackluster sales.
The new gold color option is said to be released sometime in October, and joins another gold item, the iPhone 5S. According to reports, iPad sales have been falling recently, and Apple is expected to announce new iPad features in the coming month. The gold color option will only be available for full sized iPads (9.7 inches), and not for the iPad Air.
The decline in iPad sales could be due, in part, to the recent release of the iPhone 6 Plus, which, at 5.5 inches, is the largest iPhone ever released.
Reports suggest that Apple will announce all the new iPad features and the latest Mac OS X update at an event on Oct. 21.
