The Queen’s Gambit star Anya Taylor-Joy and her musician boyfriend Malcolm McRae, 27, were photographed in Sydney, Australia, on July 9, with Anya wearing what appears to be an engagement ring. It seems those rumors just might be true after all.
The couple now has married in an intimate courthouse wedding after a year of dating. They quickly and quietly tied the knot before to continue filming Taylor-Joy’s film Furiosa, the prequel to Mad Max: Fury Road.
The couple made their relationship Instagram official in October 2021. McRae even accompanied Taylor-Joy, 26, to support her during her Saturday Night Live hosting gig in May.
The engagement news began circulating last month after Taylor-Joy was seen around Australia with some shiny bling on her ring finger.
Taylor-Joy recently spoke with British Vogue about her relationship with Malcolm, saying how similar the two are.
“I’ve finally found someone who will happily sit in silence with me reading. We’re basically 80 years old and seven at the same time and it works really well.”
