Aton Yelchin was killed on June 19 when his 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee pinned him against a brick mailbox outside of his Los Angeles home.

The parents of late actor plan to file a wrongful death lawsuit.

The car model had been recalled months earlier. Fiat Chrysler executives recalled 248,667 of its 2014 and 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokees voluntarily over a design error in its electronic shifter. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration linked 41 injuries, 212 crashes and 308 property damage claims to the models, a report by the agency showed.

His passing also left many A-listers sharing their grievances.

Parents Irina and Viktor Yelchin thanked those who had shared their condolences in an ad in The Hollywood Reporter earlier this month.

“Thank you to all of you who have sent flowers and gifts, for your condolences and kind words and to all who came to celebrate the life of our dear son, Anton,” the Yelchins said. “We are deeply grateful for your unconditional love. He would be surprised at how many hearts and souls he touched.”
