Anton Yelchin, the late Star Trek actor, was memorialized during a private funeral service last Friday.
Yelchin’s funeral service was held at an undisclosed location last week, attended by the star’s family members and other loved ones, reported People magazine.
Yelchin was found dead at the age of 27 outside of his home in Studio City, California, on June 19. It was determined that the actor had died of “blunt traumatic asphyxia” after his Jeep Grand Cherokee rolled down his driveway, pinning him to his front gate near his mailbox.
There is a police investigation into Yelchin’s death with toxicology results pending. Investigators are also looking into the gear shift on Yelchin’s 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee, which had been included in a Fiat Chrysler recall. Apparently the gearshift’s design made in difficult for drivers to know if the car was in “park” or “neutral,” and had caused a number of accidents.
While Yelchin is best known for his work in the Star Trek franchise, the Russian-born actor has a number of other credits to his name. His other feature films include, Green Room, Broken Horses, Experimenter, Cymbeline, Like Crazy and Alpha Dog. Before breaking out in movies, Yelchin had appeared on TV in Criminal Minds, NYPD Blue, Curb Your Enthusiasm, Without a Trace, The Practice and Judging Amy.
