Anthony Weiner used the alias "Carlos Danger" to exchanging lewd texts with a young woman after he resigned from Congress under a cloud of a sexting scandal in 2011.
The most recent messages were uncovered and posted on Monday by nightlife website TheDirty.com. The site's founder Nik Richie has supposedly been in contact with the anonymous woman on the receiving end of Weiner’s messages. She alleges that the former New York congressman and mayoral hopeful corresponded with her over Facebook, Formspring and over the phone for a period of about six months. Along with the lewd messages, the woman leaked an explicit photograph.
Following the publication of the chat messages, which had been exchanged last summer, Weiner made a statement while continuing his campaign for mayor. “I said that other texts and photos were likely to come out, and today they have,” he said. “As I have said in the past, these things that I did were wrong and hurtful to my wife and caused us to go through challenges in our marriage that extended past my resignation from Congress. While some things that have been posted today are true and some are not, there is no question that what I did was wrong.
“This behavior is behind me,” he added. “I’ve apologized to [my wife] Huma and am grateful that she has worked through these issues with me and for her forgiveness. I want to again say that I am very sorry to anyone who was on the receiving end of these messages and the disruption that this has caused. As my wife and I have said, we are focused on moving forward.”

Weiner receded into the background of the political world after the first sexting messages came out a couple of years ago. Now, however, with his loyal wife Huma Abedin at his side, he’s determined to get a second chance from the people of New York City. Undeterred by the latest lewd conversation leaks, Weiner is continuing his campaign for governor.
