Anthony Ciccone, Madonna's Homeless Brother, Arrested
Anthony Ciccone, the homeless brother of Madonna, was arrested following an alleged drunken struggle with police at a local civic center in Michigan on Sunday, according to the Traverse City Record-Eagle.
Ciccone, who revealed in 2011 that he'd been homeless for over a year and a half after having lost his job, has been known to have a problem with alcohol. When law enforcement attempted to remove him from the bathroom at the civic center, the 56-year-old "pulled away, turned around and confronted the female officer in an aggressive manner. She turned him around and brought him to the ground, which is when he stuck his face on the bathroom floor," according to Traverse City Police Capt. Brian Heffner.
After his altercation with the police officer, Ciccone was brought to Munson Medical Center. There, he received nine stitches for a cut on his forehead and underwent tests to find out his level of intoxication. His blood-alcohol level reportedly registered at 0.40 – four times what's considered intoxicated in Michigan.
At the time of his arrest, Ciccone already had a warrant out for a previous offense. In March, he had allegedly trespassed at a bookstore and had refused to leave. He was arraigned on Monday of the trespassing charge, but has yet to be charged for his alleged offenses on Sunday. He is currently being held at Traverse County Jail without bond.
Madonna has not commented on her elder brother's recent brush with the law.
