Anne Hathaway To Play Catwoman

From birthday suit to cat suit.

Anne Hatahway, who created buzz by appearing nude opposite Jake Gyllenhaal in last year's Love and Other Drugs, just signed with director Christopher Nolan to portray Catwoman in the next Batman installment, The Dark Knight Rises. "I am thrilled to have the opportunity to work with Anne Hathaway, who will be a fantastic addition to our ensemble as we complete our story," said Nolan in a statement, according to PopEater.

Hathaway will star with Christian Bale and Tom Hardy, who played Eames in last year's Inception, also directed by Nolan. The director also said he was "delighted to be working with Tom again and excited to watch him bring to life our new interpretation of one of Batman's most formidable enemies." Hardy will play Bane, Batman's nemesis.

Hathaway joins the ranks of such actresses as Michelle Pfeiffer and Julie Newmar, both of whom portrayed the sexy feline, in the 1992 Tim Burton Batman Returns and the 1960s TV series, respectively.

While you have to wait until the summer of 2012 to see Hathaway don the catsuit, you can catch her testing her pipes in an upcoming episode of Glee, set to air before the end of the season. —KIMBERLY STEELE
