Anne Hathaway walked the red carpet for the premiere of her new movie, Song One, in an all-white ensemble Tuesday night.

Anne Hathaway’s White Suit

Hathaway arrived at the premiere in cropped white Theory pants and a cream-colored, tailored Iro blazer over a sheer white top. She completed the monochrome look with white Christian Louboutin pumps and a gold Tods clutch. Growing out her pixie cut, Hathaway styled her hair in a wavy bob, parted down the middle.

Hathaway not only stars in Song One alongside singer-actor Johnny Flynn, she also served as a producer with her husband, Adam Shulman. Initially, the Oscar-winner planned to remain behind the scenes, but happily stepped in to take on the part of Franny – an academic working in Morocco who comes home to Brooklyn when her aspiring musician brother ends up in a coma.

“The thing that really made me the most excited about it was this idea that I was going to be able to help bring new music into the world,” Hathaway said about the project to The Hollywood Reporter, adding, “I don’t know how to write a song. I’m really proud to have had a hand. Amongst many people.”

The musical minds behind the songs were Jenny Lewis and Jonathan Rice. The couple, who’ve performed together as Jenny and Johnny, worked tirelessly to craft songs that would bring the film’s story to life. As for writer/director Kate Barker-Froyland, she endeavored to create dialogue that would feel authentic coming from Hathaway.

“I was really writing with Anne’s voice in my head saying these lines,” said Barker-Froyland. “We did several table reads with Anne, and she would say some of the lines and I would be like, that really works, or, you know what, that doesn’t work for whatever reason. So I would cut it or I would rewrite it. And she would give me her thoughts on certain things.”

Song One hits theaters Jan. 23.
