Anna ‘Chickadee’ Cardwell Sues Mama June Shannon For ‘Here Comes Honey Boo Boo’ Profits

Anna ‘Chickadee’ Cardwell is suing Mama June Shannon, alleging that her mother kept $300,000 of her payment for TLC’s Here Comes Honey Boo Boo.

Anna Cardwell Sues Mama June For $300,000

According to a lawsuit filed on behalf of Cardwell and her 2-year-old daughter, Kaitlyn, Cardwell believes her mother, known as Mama June, kept their earnings from Here Comes Honey Boo Boo. Cardwell accused Mama June of keeping $200,000 of her earnings and $100,000 for Kaitlyn, who appeared on the show as a newborn.

The complaint alleges that Mama June kept their share of the $22,500 per episode salary as well as keeping royalties from merchandising. One third of the $22,500 was always meant to be equally divided between the children starring in the show – Alana ‘Honey Boo Boo,’ Lauryn, Jessica and Cardwell. The suit also accuses TLC of not sufficiently protecting their individual earnings, as the network had allegedly promised.

Mama June refuted allegations that she ever saw any of the money Cardwell claims she has, saying that TLC deposited her daughter’s earnings directly into an account in her name. Mama June also claimed that she recently paid Cardwell $15,4000, which was her share of the money TLC paid the family after abruptly canceling Here Comes Honey Boo Boo.

Mama June has since accused her own mother, Sandra Hale, as being the true instigator of the lawsuit. A few months ago, Mama June told TMZ that her mother was “a money hungry bitch,” and now she claims she has text messages that back up her belief that Hale is manipulating Cardwell. “I did not hire the lawyer. My grandma did… I know I can’t get her money and that’s what I tried to tell him [Hale’s boyfriend],” reads one of the alleged texts sent from Cardwell to a family member.

Mama June and Cardwell have had a tense relationship ever since Mama June was photographed with her ex, Mark McDaniel, who allegedly molested Cardwell when she was 8-years-old. Recently the mother and daughter appear to have mended their relationship. Three weeks ago, they reunited to celebrate Jessica’s graduation from high school.
