Angelina Jolie Files For Divorce From Brad Pitt, Wants Sole Physical Custody Of Kids
Angelina Jolie has reportedly filed for divorce from Brad Pitt after two years of marriage.
Angelina Jolie Divorcing Brad Pitt, Doesn’t Want Spousal Support
Jolie filed for divorce from Pitt citing irreconcilable differences on Monday, when she listed the date of legal separation as Sept. 15, 2016, reported TMZ. Jolie, who is being represented in the divorce by favorite celebrity divorce attorney Laura Wasser, is not requesting any spousal support from Pitt.
Significantly, while Jolie is open to joint legal custody of the pair’s six children – Maddox, 14, Pax, 12, Zahara, 11, Shiloh, 10 and 8-year-old twins Vivienne and Knox – she wants sole physical custody of them. Under the arrangement, Pitt would only be granted visitation of the children.
Jolie was apparently motivated to file for divorce from Pitt over his parenting, sources told TMZ, claiming that Jolie was “extremely upset with his methods.” According to their sources, it was Pitt’s parenting – not a cheating scandal as some reports have suggested – that led to the split.
Jolie and Pitt’s relationship began as something of a scandal, as the two met and fell in love on the set of Mr. and Mrs. Smith when Pitt was still married to Jennifer Aniston. Although the two have been together since 2004, they only became married in August 2014.
