Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt have resolved the legal battle over the vineyard they co-owned when they were a couple.

In 2008, the pair bought the Château Miraval estate in Provence, France, for $22 million. They started a business with the Perrin winemaker family in 2013 to make their famous rosé. The wine was instantly profitable, earning $1.1 million in its first year and $16.5 million in 2022.

Jolie and Pitt each owned 50% of the estate and the wine business, but they divorced in 2016. In 2021, Jolie sold her share of the property to Russian oligarch Yuri Shefler, leading Pitt to sue and accuse Jolie of “systematic obstruction” of the business and selling her stake without giving him a chance to purchase it first.

But now, Jolie and Pitt have come to an agreement to settle out of court. Last year, Jolie filed a lawsuit against Pitt, saying that he tried to “seize control” of the estate “in retaliation” for the divorce and custody battle. She also sued Pitt earlier this month, accusing Pitt of “looting” the business, including spending “more than $1 million on swimming pool renovations, building and rebuilding a staircase four times and spending millions to restore a recording studio.”

Lawyers claimed he did not spend his time focused on the vineyard as he was busy filming multiple movies and attending many film premieres and Hollywood parties. They then stated, “He deals in illusions, not dirt and grapes.”

Jolie and Pitt are still locked in a legal dispute over child custody.
