Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt have put their divorce proceedings on hold.
Almost a year after Jolie filed for divorce from her husband of two years and partner of 12, it appears the momentum has halted. “It’s true that the divorce is not moving forward right now,” a source told E!. “They are taking a breather and seeing what happens.”
Both parties in the pair have discussed their relationship in separate interviews, often focussing on the negative impact the separation has had on their six kids. Jolie just moved her family into a $25 million house in Los Angeles, while Pitt is now sober. “I was a professional, I was good,” the actor says of his drinking habits. “[But I didn’t] want to live that way anymore.”
The details are still murky, with some sources saying Jolie is giving Pitt a second chance, but others saying they are just pausing for the sake of the kids. “There isn’t one in the works,” another source says of the possibility of a romantic reconciliation. “These things always take a long time, and right now their main focus is on their family and the kids.”
For now, we’ll wait for a solid answer, but the divorce proceedings have taken a break.
