Angelina Jolie, Brad Pitt To Film In Malta
"I'm happy that Hollywood producers have once again chosen Malta for their project and we will be delighted to host Mr. Pitt, Ms. Jolie and their family for the second time in three years," Malta Prime Minister Joseph Muscat told People. "I'm sure that this film will help put our beautiful sister island of Gozo on the world map."
Jolie, 39, and Pitt, 50, have not filmed a movie together since 2005’s Mr. & Mrs. Smith, on the set of which the two reportedly fell in love and caused the end of Pitt’s 5-year marriage to Jennifer Aniston. "What people don't understand is that we filmed for a year. We were still filming after Jen and I split up,” Pitt told W Magazine in 2009. “Even then it doesn't mean that there was some kind of dastardly affair. There wasn't."
Now that they’ve been together for nearly 10 years, with the scandal of the beginning of their romance mostly behind them, the engaged pair feels it’s time to get back on screen together. In addition to the Malta project, Pitt and Jolie could join forces on an “art piece” that Jolie wrote for them.
"I wrote something a few years ago for Brad and me," Jolie told People earlier this year.. "Just for fun. Just an independent little art piece. Because we don't get to do those as much as we'd like. But it's something really small and experimental."
Separately, both Jolie and Pitt have big projects ahead of them. Jolie, coming off the commercial success of Maleficent, is making her directorial debut with Unbroken, about real life World War II hero and Olympian Louis Zamperini, which will be hitting theaters Dec. 25. Pitt will appear in David Ayer’s Fury, which premieres in November.
